Being a Float Manager designs and implements necessary process changes to speed check processing and reduce float time. Position Summary:
The Nurse Extern II position is filled by a nursing student who has successfully completed their first year in an accredited school of nursing and has been accepted into the following year of study. Nurse Extern II will perform duties identified as appropriate for Nursing Student in a work study program, as clarified by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Extern II will be assigned to care for patients in the acute care hospital under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge & Skills:
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
(1) Is currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing School and is entering their senior year.
(2) Current BLS Certificate
(3) A letter of recommendation from nursing faculty is required with application.
(4) Has successfully been accepted into their senior year of an accredited school of nursing – must successfully pass all senior courses to remain in program.
Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
(1) Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking, and good oral and written communication skills.
(2) Ability to work with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills.
All competencies must be validated.

Pay Rate: $23.00 Hourly
