ANNOUNCEMENT:Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Coordinator – Aviation Flight, Management, & Aircraft Dispatch Training Programs.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Aviation Flight, Management and Aircraft Dispatcher Training programs. This role serves as a key liaison providing information for and communication to varying agencies, institutions, and programs associated with the Programs to ensure all current federal guidelines and mandates are met. The Coordinator must have a thorough understanding of FAA programs, certifications, and ratings. This position involves complex work, and is responsible for a wide range of duties under general direction to meet program parameters while using independent judgment to solve problems and follow established policies, procedures and guidelines of associated entities. The Coordinator will support the overall performance of all Aviation Flight, Management and Aircraft Dispatcher Training Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates degree and a minimum of three years’ experience working in a related area is required. Bachelor’s preferred.
2. Minimum of two (2) years experience in professional aviation either with an air carrier under C.F.R. (Code of the Federal Register) Title 14 Federal Aviation Regulations (F.A.R.) Part 121 or aviation training administration records maintained under Title 14 C.F.R. Part 141.
3. Experience with the Federal Aviation Administration Pilot’s Bill of Rights Act regarding pilot records preferred.
4. Experience with completing F.A.A. pilot qualification forms related to training programs.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, databases and software appropriate to the program is required. (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams/Access, PeopleSoft).
6. Prior experience in training documentation, planning, and reporting strongly preferred
7. Experience in the administration of law enforcement training programs and basic knowledge of criminal justice fields preferred.
8. Previous experience in an educational institution is preferred.
9. Must successfully pass criminal background check prior to hire.
SALARY: Salary Grade 2 on Administrative Pay Scale, ranging $44,675 to $51,310 per year.
