Position Summary:
Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of the credit union’s training and development programs for all staff. Research training needs within the credit union and develop programs. Such programs should reflect the strategic plan of the organization and ensure that ongoing development of all team members focuses on the quality of service to members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follow all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements in addition to all state and federal laws and regulations, including Regulation CC, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Educate members on various credit union policies, procedures and related laws and regulations where applicable.
Assess the credit union’s training needs with input from managers, in branch and department visits along with other resources to gauge the effectiveness of the program.
Investigate and research available training methods and procedures to identify new or improved training methods and content materials.
Administer the credit union’s training programs by creating and/or coordinating presentations and presenting programs.
Create training activities for interactive participation.
Evaluate training materials internally and from outsourced programs and/or vendors to augment training. Coordinate and utilize external training programs and products that enhance the credit unions training program.
Coordinate the development and execution of the annual team training.
Prepare an annual calendar of required trainings for all team members and volunteers.
Conduct training sessions for new team members and support for those moving to new roles, who may need enhanced skills.
Assist department managers with team member development. Provide information and feedback with respect to coaching and product/process knowledge.
Work with branch teams and departments to manage procedural manuals used in conjunction with training needs and process changes as they occur.
Prepare training and resource manuals.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Extended sitting up to 80% of the time
Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds
Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulder level is occasionally required
Continuous sound perception/discrimination and verbal speech ability
Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations/concepts involving decimals and percentages)
Occasional travel, irregular hours may be required and exposure to dust and poor ventilation
Ability to use a personal computer, analyze data and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Public speaking and presentation skills.
Knowledge of credit union operations, regulations, practices and concepts.
Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
Problem solving skills.
Must be bondable.
Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field or equivalent.
5 – 7 years credit union or financial institution experience.
