    As Flight Optimisation Solution Engineer, Associate, you will work closely with air transport industry stakeholders and customers in addressing complex solutions for the airline. You will be accountable for technical pre-sales activities coordinating the activities of multidisciplinary teams across the business unit and providing subject matter expert inputs to customers.

    While you will be able and invited to work on the whole range of SITA For Aircraft product and solution’s portfolio, the focus of your role will be on the Flight Optimization products and services

    Reporting to the Solution Engineer Senior Manager you will be a part of the group of Solution Designers in the Design, Innovation & Architecture (DIA) team that are responsible for technical pre-sales.

    What you will do

    • Manage the pre-sales process for key flight applications and support our clients with deployment while liaising with our engineering team and business development teams globally, with a focus on the opportunities involving our Flight Optimization products
    • Engage with clients about complex key flight applications (e.g., OptiFlight, OptiCruise, OptiSpeed, OptiLevel, eWAS Dispatch/Pilot, Mission Control, FlightFolder) with ease. Advise and promote the SITA for Aircraft products to help with the rollout of innovation
    • Contribute to the product development life cycle by bringing key items back to the table on behalf of our clients as well as participating to the brainstorming activities around new products and/or product features
    • Impact product evolution - Contribute to the enterprise architecture processes aiming at the evolution of the global SITA FOR AIRCRAFT platform.
    • Support technically RFP/RFI/RFQ processes, and produce the necessary technical material; coordinating with the various teams involved in SITA FOR AIRCRAFT 
    • Coordinate the product & engineering discussions in case of multi-product complex customer solutions to ensure that the impacts are understood, road mapped and committed by the various parties.
    • Provide technical and business analysis support during the Product Gate Process (product initiation phase) and for multi-product, cross-function data integrations and enablers.
    • Develop and run client workshops, manage activities as required to fully enable the customer to realize and implement the benefits of SITA FOR AIRCRAFT products.
    • Contribute to the development of regional or local partnerships with external suppliers/partners in both industry and academia.

    Qualifications

    Who you are

    •  An experienced technical pre-sales professional with a higher education (Master, Engineer, PhD) degree in Software and/or System design, with a solution background in Operational Research and multi-dimensional optimization problems as well as proven experience in the airline industry or aircraft domain
    • 4 years of experience in the Airline IT/TechOps, or with an OEM, dealing with flight data management or fleet optimization in related Air Transport Industry domain
    • Experienced in software and system design including Cloud and Service Oriented architectures, capable of understanding complex technical workflows and designing distributed processing architectures while also controlling the possible side effects and degraded scenarios
    • Knowledge of other optimization techniques and algorithms beyond linear programming.
    • Experience in the aviation industry or other transportation domains.
    • Strong knowledge in flight planning systems, airline operations and related areas.
    • Understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps.
    • A reasonable understanding of the Python programming language is expected.
    • Understanding of the nature of the information contained in QAR/DAR/SAR data.

    • Understanding of aircraft performance and the key elements that influence it.
    • Reasonable understanding of Air Navigation principles and the Pilot Operations in coordination with ATC as well as Dispatch and other Airline Operations stakeholders
