Chief Instructor

    • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    This position reports to the VP of Standardization.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Working under the guidance of the VP of Standardization to implement or change policies and procedures as necessary to increase training quality and reduce the level and/impact of risk, and ensure training materials, curriculum, and testing standards are continually improved to provide the best possible training
    • Being available to conduct instructor training and FAR Part 141 proficiency checks
    • Being available to conduct student training and stage checks
    • Being able to perform all additional Chief Instructor responsibilities listed in FAR Part 141.85
    • Work with the VP of Standardization on training course creation, updates, and implementation
    • Work closely with the Director of Safety to ensure that appropriate standards are established and maintained to provide the highest level of safety for AeroGuard Flight Training Center personnel
    • REQUIREMENTS
    • EDUCATION
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Must hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Category, SEL/MEL Class Ratings, and Instrument Rating
    • Must have CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates
    • EXPERIENCE
    • Meet requirements of FAR 141.35 Chief Instructor
    • SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Ability to pass a Part 141 Chief Instructor proficiency check for both single and multi-engine airplanes
    • Proficient on Microsoft Word and Power Point
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor
    • Dependable and reliable
    • Ability to provide a high level of instruction
    • Ability to coordinate with necessary people and departments to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects
    • Ability to identify problems or potential problems and develop and implement solutions
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and does not wait for others to provide work, finds ways to keep busy and help others
    • EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED
    • General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, scanner and personal computers
    • All AeroGuard aircraft and simulators
    • PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
    • Will be working primarily inside the facility
    • Frequent exposure to aircraft, simulators and equipment
    • Position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing and computer use
