Job Description and Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for writing CNC programs for a CNC mill and CNC lathe, as well as setting up and verifying programs to meet precise drawing specifications. Involves creating small, one-off part programs and multi-part batch programs for large production volumes, ranging in complexity and operation requirements. Additionally, operate and maintain CNC machines following initial setup, complete deburring, cleaning, and other finishing processes, and inspect parts using appropriate tools.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Able to plan and execute machine operations efficiently
Minimum two years experience in CNC machining or equivalent apprenticeship
Firm grasp of G-Code & M-Code, able to read and write proficiently
Familiarity with HAAS CNC machines a plus
CAM experience, preferably with CamWorks software
SolidWorks experience a plus
Able to design and create effective part setups, using work offsets, tool offsets, tool changes, probe routines, etc. for maximum efficiency
Basic understanding of common metals/materials and relevant machining requirements
Familiar with common inspection tools (micrometer, calipers, etc.)
Able to read and interpret component drawings, including geometric callous, tolerances, etc.
Firm grasp of both metric and imperial unit systems a plus
Must be willing and able to follow verbal and written instructions, including specific operation task lists
