Fleet Administrator, Sr. jobs in New York

Fleet Administrator, Sr. assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator, Sr. prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator, Sr. may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Responsibilities:

    Oversee the maintenance and repair schedules for all company vehicles and equipment.

    Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for repairs, servicing, and inspections.

    Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections for each vehicle and piece of equipment.

    Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet and equipment utilization and minimize downtime.

    Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs.

    Monitor fuel consumption and ensure efficient fuel management practices.

    Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to fleet and equipment operations.

    Train and supervise staff involved in the operation and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.

    Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the fleet and equipment operations.

    Prepare reports and analysis on fleet and equipment performance, maintenance costs, and other relevant metrics.


    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

    Proven experience in fleet and equipment management, preferably in a similar industry.

    Strong understanding of maintenance procedures and best practices for vehicles and equipment.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    Proficient computer skills, including experience with fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

    Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Certification in fleet management or related field.

    Experience with GPS tracking systems and telematics technology.

    Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards for fleet and equipment operations.
