Fleet Administrator assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Position Description

    The Fleet Safety Telematics Program Administrator main duties are management and oversight of all aspects the program. This includes implementation training, troubleshooting, and arranging repair/replacement of dashcams when necessary, daily/hourly monitoring of telematics electronic platform for violations, documenting and communicating prohibited driving actions, ensuring that all detected driving actions are coached/disciplined through driver’s supervision, retrieving dashcam footage when requested/required, serving as a primary point of contact and liaison with dashcam vendor, and keeping DOT/Fleet leadership informed of trends and developments.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provide oversight and management of The Fleet Dashcam program and assist with Fleet Telematics program.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining the “Safest in Class” Fleet by monitoring and addressing negative driver actions.
    • Inform leadership of all significant issues, trends, and incidents related to the Dashcam and Telematics program.
    • Maintain weekly contact with selected Dashcam vendor to discuss incidents and issues.
    • Assist in the implementation of the Dashcam program (may include some travel).
    • Store, house, and organize any requested Dashcam footage for legal and training purposes as needed.
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with business unit leadership and company drivers.
    • Assist with other DOT regulatory requirements as needed.
    • Coordinate prompt repairs or replacements of dashcam hardware as needed.
    • Assist with oversight, management, and monitoring of electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).

    Position Requirements

    • Highly developed computer skills to include working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
    • Excellent communication skills are a must! The ability to handle conflict and communicate in a respectful, considerate, and effective manner.
    • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
    • The ability to influence, motivate, and accomplish work through others.
    • Depending on location of successful candidate, remote work is acceptable.
    • Must be highly driven and able to accomplish work with limited immediate supervision.
    • Minimal travel required (less than 10%).
    • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality when necessary.
    • Past experience in dashcam systems or fleet telematics is not required, but a plus!
    • A desire and willingness to learn new platforms and systems as it relates to dashcams and telematics.
    • The ability to take all factors into account and come to a fair and objective assessment of driver actions.
    • Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable.
