    About the position: This position will be responsible for providing a security presence across the facility, leading efforts to maintain consumer and staff safety, and building rapport with consumers to ensure a therapeutic environment.  This position will also respond to all behavioral emergency situations to participate in verbal and physical de-escalation interventions and work with nursing staff to manage consumer behavior on the treatment units.  The Security Officer will also receive specialized Therapeutic Options training to use in de-escalation situations and may entail some interaction with law enforcement when new consumers are brought in for admission assessment. 

    Job Type/Salary:

    • Level II: Annual Salary is $31,500 ($15.14/hr.)
    • Level I: Salary is $29,500.00 ($14.18 / hr.)
    • PLUS, shift differentials when working evenings, nights and weekends.
    • Currently recruiting for evening shift.
    • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

    • Level II: Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a basic security and/or firefighter’s course and two years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.
    • Level I: No experience needed. 

    Special Requirements: 

    • Upon a condition offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.

    About the facility: Children’s Recovery Center of Oklahoma (CRC) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for young people ages 13 through 17.  CRC provides community crisis stabilization and residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health and trauma related conditions. 

    Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing:  Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
