Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. We are currently seeking a motivated Fire Sprinkler Inspector with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic. The ideal candidate will be state certified in Louisiana and eligible and/or capable of earning certifications in Louisiana and Texas.
The position requires inspection and testing of all types of fire protection equipment. The preferred candidate must be able to provide service across varied product lines.
Inspectors will be required to communicate with internal and external customers in a respectful and courteous manner and represent our company in a professional demeanor.
Overnight travel will be required on occasion.
Requirements:
NICET level II or higher required
Take direction and communicate in a professional manner
Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork
Maintain vehicle, uniform, and tools as per company policy
Must have a valid state driver's license and good driving record
Must pass back ground check and drug test
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be seeking longevity
Must be able to keep all certifications and licensing up to date
Must be able to work as part of a team
