Fire Inspector jobs in Norwich, CT

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     Essential Job Functions :

    This position is responsible for providing inspection, testing and servicing a variety of fire suppression systems including Kitchen Hoods in a professional and timely manner.

    Also selling of related services to existing and prospective new Extinguisher inspection services will also be part of this position.

    Salary Range : $ to $ an hour plus Commission)

    Qualifications :

    • Experience in Fire Suppression.
    • The ability to learn and comprehend general electrical safety procedures.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license and a current and sustainable good driving record.
    • Satisfactory results in a company mandated criminal background check and drug test
