Fire Inspector jobs in Mckinney, TX

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     Job Title: Fire Alarm Inspector

    Qualifications:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in low voltage electrical systems/Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience required
    • Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Travel required
    • Ability to work well with others
    • Self-starter that can work without supervision
    • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures
    • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
    • Fire Alarm License FAL
    • Achieve NICET Level II certification after 2 years on the job
    • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspection, Maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems
    • Be skilled at Servicing and Inspecting Fire Alarm Systems per NFPA 72 Standards as well as National, State, and Local Codes
    • Adhere to all OSHA, customer and company safety policies and procedures
    • Demonstrate cooperation, teamwork, and a commitment to professional and organizational development
