Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. AAA Fire is hiring a Fire Alarm Installation Technician to work in our Layton, UT branch.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install or upgrade fire alarm systems in commercial buildings.
Test and repair alarm systems already in place
Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code.
Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues.
Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Protect and maintain company equipment.
Inspect and maintain company vehicles and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training)
Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus (including 70 and 72)
Experience with programming commercial systems which may include Gamewell-FCI, Silent Knight/Farenhyt, Potter, Notifier, etc.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
