Fire Inspector jobs in Federal Way, WA

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     The Role

    • Creates proposals based on the identified discrepancies from inspection reports
    • Coordinates work schedule once proposals are signed and parts are in
    • Coordinates with subcontractors for proposals
    • Owns maintenance of service inventory
    • Coordinates pickup and/or delivery of parts from vendors
    • Assists the Service Manager with permitting, project proposals, and project tracking
    • Performs customer service and administrative functions at the Tacoma office to ensure effective communication with management, callers, customers, and staff
    • Answers company phones, provides information, and directs callers to the appropriate parties
    • Expedites and ensures accuracy with all administrative correspondence
    • Performs general data entry
    • Responds efficiently with internal and external customers regarding the status of multiple documents and projects
    • Prepares documentation for the management and/or executive staff as requested
    • Maintains files, tracking logs, reports, spreadsheets, and special projects
    • Performs administrative duties as needed to perform projects to completion
    • Works in partnership with a diverse employment environment
    • Interacts effectively with internal and external customers
    • Creates service work orders, quotes, purchase orders, and invoicing

    The Necessities

    • Previous customer service department experience
    • Valid state driver’s license

    Pay range is $24 - $29 per hour for well-qualified candidates.
