Fire Inspector jobs in Bowie, MD

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Fire extinguisher inspector to join our team. As a Fire extinguisher inspector, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting and maintaining fire extinguishers. Your expertise and knowledge will be essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients' facilities.

    Responsibilities:

    - Conduct site surveys to assess fire protection needs and identify potential hazards

    - Install, test, and maintain fire extinguishers

    - Perform routine inspections and maintenance on existing fire protection systems

    - Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion

    - Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, codes, and regulations

    Qualifications:

    - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or technical training is a plus

    - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues

    - Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of power tools and building techniques

    - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

    - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Expected hours: 25 – 60 per week
