Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. We are currently seeking qualified Fire Alarm Technician/Installer/Inspectors for full-time permanent positions.
Successful candidates should possess:
· At least 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and inspecting various types of fire alarm systems
· Knowledge of NFPA and other codes required in the state of Georgia
· A professional appearance, good customer service & verbal/written communication skills
· Ability to get along well with others
· A positive attitude and confidence with a “can do” approach
· A valid driver's license with a decent driving record
· NICET certification preferred
· U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency
· Ability to lift/carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Punctuality with an ability and willingness to work outside normal business hours as occasionally required
Job Responsibilities:
· Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Alarm and other low voltage systems
· Installing equipment, running cable, installing boxes, connecting new circuits to existing systems, and programming control panels
· Test and inspect fire alarm systems per NFPA requirements
· Accurately document service, installation, and inspection records
· Participate in on-call rotation
· Maintain customer rapport by updating customers on job progress, answering their questions, and resolving any concerns they might have
· Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment without having to be reminded
