Indigo Fire is hiring a weekend manager responsible for overseeing weekend staff and operations at both studios. This individual will alternate studio locations each week. They'll participate in studio operations, but their primary responsibility will be managing the weekend staff. This includes periodic check ins, formal bi-annual performance reviews, supporting their needs, scheduling weekend coverage, training, and hiring for new weekend staff. A measure of success in this position will be facilitating communication and connection between the weekend and weekday activity.

Applicants should have a minimum of 2-3 years directly managing people as well as previous pottery studio operations experience. A strong foundational knowledge of ceramics, studio equipment and studio operations is key. Applicants should also have a general proficiency with modern software including Gmail, Google Docs, Notion, Slack and Trello. They should be organized, consistent and have excellent communication skills. Finally, they must have reliable transportation and be able to comfortably lift 50lbs.

Routine studio operations include:

- Loading, unloading and firing kilns

- Grinding and treating kiln shelves

- Mixing and sieving studio glazes

- Laying out, monitoring and pugging reclaim clay

- Trimming, glazing and shelving workshop pottery

- Studio cleaning.

Schedule will be Thursday-Sunday, 30 hours a week. There is some flexibility in day to day hours, but 10am-6pm will be the baseline schedule.
