Financial Systems Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the implementation and administration of the organization's financial systems. Oversees the daily operations of the department.   • Overview

    Provide Human Resource Business Partner Support for the Gerber Life Operations.  Responsible for Human Resources strategic solutions to ensure people strategies are aligned with business strategies including: driving talent and performance management initiatives employee relations and communications, recruiting activities, performance management, policy interpretation, compensation administration, training, managing internal investigations and employee issues, including interaction with legal counsel, and overall enforcement of Company values, Human Resources policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Human Resources leadership and management of recruitment, transfer and promotion efforts by ensuring accurate job descriptions and job analysis.  Facilitate recruiting efforts for management positions including interviewing.  Responsible for the enforcement of compliance requirements and workforce diversity.  Maintain salary data by participating in, analyzing survey results and ensuring salaries are internally aligned in the Operations as well as with the market.  Review all recommended salary proposals and adjustments, based on Company guidelines.  Provide general information and guidance regarding benefit and policy questions.  Assist business with performance management issues – manage employee relations by providing guidance, counsel and coaching.  Conduct exit interviews.
    • Establish relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Promote and foster an environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback.  Provide counsel and guidance to Operations Management on people development.  Provide annual training/refresher sessions on performance review and development processes.  Facilitate and ensure effective and meaningful performance review, succession planning and talent calibration sessions.  Ensure program compliance such as ensuring associate feedback has been provided and documents are completed in a timely manner.  Responsible for managing development, incentive and merit processes.  Assist the business with determining associate training needs and research opportunities or develop and conduct training as necessary.
    • Performs full oversight and case management for employees with disabilities, including leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations for Gerber Life Insurance employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  In partnership with Western & Southern (W&S), establishes and administers the employee eligibility and ongoing compliance of ADA cases for the Company. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations and W&S standards.  Handle investigations as required.
    • Staff development, includes forecast of staffing needs, identifies and recruits talent.  Develop others through feedback, coaching and appropriate training opportunities ensuring departmental succession planning takes place.

     

    Qualifications

    • 5-7 years Human Resources experience including Employee Relations, Coaching, Performance Management and People Development
    • 2-3 years Supervisory experience with direct and/or indirect reports
    • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration and regulations

    Work Setting:

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
    • Master’s degree preferred

    Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:

    • Proficiency in standard computer systems including dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, calculator, telephone.
    • Other standard office equipment including:  copy machine, fax and scanner

    Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

    • Professional Certification in Human Resources a plus

    Position Demands:

    • Requires close vision while working on a computer and for reading a variety of other media.
    • Requires mental acumen for writing simple / complex reports, conducting analysis and creating communications as well as good judgment to make sound decisions.  Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms, and to prepare and analyze data in an accurate, neat and thorough manner.
    • Continually makes repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to keyboarding.
    • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
    • Position will require walking, bending, and sitting. 
    • Travel -  Less than 10%, could involve 2-3 overnight travels or as required by special projects.
