Financial Systems Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the implementation and administration of the organization's financial systems. Oversees the daily operations of the department. Being a Financial Systems Manager researches financial record-keeping and reporting requirements, and ensures that systems are modified to meet these requirements. Creates processes and procedures to ensure best practices for financial systems are used throughout the organization. Additionally, Financial Systems Manager trains departmental staff as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Financial Systems Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Financial Systems Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This position manages and leads a team of finance professionals providing effective implementation of policy, practices, procedures and systems in the Planning, Consolidation, Account Reconciliation and Reporting applications within Dataworks financial systems including the design, development, and implementation of solutions by utilizing best practice standards. Delivers timely financial information and analysis for both internal and external reporting. Understands financial statements and has a solid understanding of the overall financial process. (E.g., Financial Close, Budgeting/Projection processes, etc.). Is also able to understand and solve business problems, architect, and implement system integrations, and design and develop complex features to meet clients' business needs/requirements. Supports corporate initiatives/objectives using current technologies available, develops professionals while creating an effective organization in support of company strategic priorities.

    Skills Needed to be Successful:

    • Experience using Oracle Cloud Financials, including EPBCS and EDMCS
    • Experience supporting financial planning in the transportation or supply chain sector
    • Experience managing technology and systems projects
    • Experience managing account and cost-center hierarchies

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree/equivalent accounting, MIS, business, computer science or a related discipline. Five to eight (5 8) years’ experience in programming, systems consulting, systems analysis, or computer modeling which includes significant experience in the development of major computer systems on either PC based or mainframe systems. Knowledge of multidimensional databases and web-based applications. Basic knowledge and understanding of PCs, networking, and peripheral devices. Ability to analyze business operations and develop automated solutions. Strong human relations, communications, project management, analytical and organizational skills. Strong understanding of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies. Experience providing expert leadership in a general planning or consulting setting. Experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-functional project teams. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to senior audiences. A related advanced degree may offset related experience requirements.
