Financial Systems Analyst implements, maintains, and updates the systems that store and process financial data. Modifies system menus, edits spreadsheets and reports, and troubleshoots system problems. Being a Financial Systems Analyst imports files to and exports files from financial databases. Generates reports and conducts analyses on financial systems data. Additionally, Financial Systems Analyst collaborates with internal teams to determine primary needs and goals and creates solutions to meet those objectives. Trains staff on the use of financial systems and acts as a liaison to the information technology department. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. GENERAL DUTIES OR EXPERIENCE:
At KMS, our Financial Systems Analysts extract and analyze periodic financial data for project and organizational monitoring. This involves labor and non-labor cost reporting, as well as the identification of erroneous charges and overruns. The Financial Systems Analyst will prepare monthly expenditure reports, comparing funding obligations and expenditures versus sponsor goals and Department of Navy benchmarks, as well as financial management reports and data summaries using ERP and EDW canned and Ad Hoc reports. Collaboration across various departments is required to ensure the accuracy in draft purchase requisitions and prepare funding document acceptance forms.
Desired Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting.
Desired Experience:
3 years of experience in a related field.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.
