Financial Systems Analyst implements, maintains, and updates the systems that store and process financial data. Modifies system menus, edits spreadsheets and reports, and troubleshoots system problems. Being a Financial Systems Analyst imports files to and exports files from financial databases. Generates reports and conducts analyses on financial systems data. Additionally, Financial Systems Analyst collaborates with internal teams to determine primary needs and goals and creates solutions to meet those objectives. Trains staff on the use of financial systems and acts as a liaison to the information technology department. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Financial Systems Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Utilization of job-relevant technical and service skills, knowledge of core data processing systems and critical third party interfaces will enable the incumbent to identify and facilitate the changes required for continued success. All technical positions required the ability to make decisions within established guidelines, manage projects with conflicting deadlines, promote a sales environment and be a team player in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork.

    Essential Functions 

    Required

    • Hands on experience in Fiserv DNA
    • Experience with in-depth understanding of Fiserv DNA capabilities in regards to deposits and lending 
    • Direct experience of 2 years with Fiserv DNA
    • Hands-on screen by screen configuration experience within Fiserv DNA for deposits and lending with an understanding of system configuration and product setup.

    Job-Specific Functions 

    • The Financial Systems Manager has a strong working knowledge of all applications administered by the IT Department and is regarded as the subject matter expert for multiple key/critical applications.
    • This individual will work closely with other business systems analysts, business units, application development, database administrators, information management, information security, infrastructure services, business analysts and project management for all applications supported by the IT Department.
    • Act as a Fiserv DNA product subject matter expert (SME) to answer questions regarding additional needs or support additional requirements.
    • Application administration responsibilities include development, testing, product builds and maintenance of products/services for assigned application(s)
    • Perform requirements and product mapping between Fiserv DNA and other product processors and systems.
    • Assist in defining, configuring, and documenting system settings and parameters for the Fiserv DNA system, specifically for deposit and lending products, using plain English.
    • Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications, aligning them with the capabilities of the Fiserv DNA system.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities, upgrades, projects, and product builds as assigned by the VP of IT and Security.
    • Responsible for evaluating enhancements, releases, or new product offerings for the assigned applications and identifying and communicating the business value and/or the operational efficiencies to be gained to the business units.
    • Meets with business units and systems owners to define functional and operational requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
    • Assists with after hours support to perform key updates such as rate changes, form changes, product changes, member impacting changes, critical issues, and upgrades.
    • Accountable for the management and resolution of tickets opened with vendors for software implementations and applications they administer. 

    Other Functions 

    • Promote an awareness of the value of Information Technologies among credit  union employees and leaders
    • Promote WFF through contact with members, employee groups, and prospective select SEG’s
    • Project a positive professional image for WFF in community/industry affairs
    • Attend appropriate committee meetings as requested by senior management
    • Maintain a mutual communication system with senior management team
    • Perform special assignments as requested by senior management

    Job Qualifications 

              Knowledge of:

    • Working knowledge of Credit Union policies, products, systems, services, regulations, and procedures
    • Industry accepted training methods and skills
    • Fundamentals of Electronic Delivery channels, including technical knowledge of audio response systems, electronic statement delivery, Internet home banking and bill payment functionalities
    • Fundamentals of the financial services industry, including an understanding of the Fed Reserve System, the ACH clearing process, the check clearing process, and the legal theory of negotiable instruments
    • Data Processing system concepts & operations, including hardware, software, and EFT technology
    • Business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmetic


    Education/Experience

    • Job requires a four-year college level of language, math and reasoning skills.  Five years’ experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable
    • Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education and self-development programs
