    Job Title: Project Financial Analyst

    Location: Cal Poly Humboldt Campus: Arcata, CA

    Hours: Full-time, Non-exempt, 12-month appointment

    Wage: $25-35/hour, commensurate with experience. This position offers a

    year of service with 1,000 hours in that year).

    Job offers a competitive wage and benefits package. Under the direction of the Executive Director,
    this position acts as the budget and project analyst for the Cal Poly Humboldt Foundation’s various
    initiatives. They are responsible for tasks related to tracking and reporting project status and
    budgetary management and will work independently with moderate supervision. This is not a state
    position. This position is expected to report to the University office five days per week but may be
    allowed to telecommute at times.



    Essential functions of the job: Responsible for tracking/overseeing multiple budget balances in OBI (campus budget system)

    and upkeep Google Sheets; keep The Executive Director informed of the status of all budget
    balances; Update the respective Directors of their respective budget balances each month

    • Prepare a monthly summary sheet of all projects under the Executive Director to include
    financial and project milestone deliverables status and subrecipient status and make
    recommendations;
    • Assist in managing contract databases and budget databases and budget data entry into
    Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets;
    • Prepare forecasted projections of each project in coordination with the Principal Investigators;
    • Monitor all project subrecipient subawards for status of; spending, invoicing, reporting and

    achieving project milestones. Communicate with subrecipients to ensure reporting and
    spending is completed; Ensure proper documentation is received from any subawards ongoing

    • Process HR actions for Executive Director employees in Kronos, assist with timesheet
    submission in the electronic timekeeping system, and monthly payroll reconciliation;
    • Review and oversee distribution of documents and correspondence for appropriate signatures
    using DocuSign and Adobe Sign;
    • Work closely with the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, Financial Services, Cashiers,
    Department Offices, and various funding agencies (Internal & External);
    • Assist with preparing and processing travel claims submitted by staff both in DocuSign and
    Concur systems;
    • Assist with preparing check requests/AP reimbursements submitted by CRF staff;
    • Assist with monthly reconciliation of travel cards and procurement cards;
    • Provide direct support to The Executive Director and well as other staff as needed;
    • Staying up to date on University, Cal Poly Humboldt Foundation, Federal, State, and local
    regulations related to the execution of grant/contract work;
    • Become knowledgeable with University/SPF policies and procedures and how they relate to
    Advancement;
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or University, 5 years of
    demonstrable budget and project management experience, and intermediate understanding of
    Microsoft excel and Google Sheets. Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

    Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

    Knowledge, Ability & Skills: Mastery of Microsoft Office and Google applications. Knowledge of
    relevant software applications (PeopleSoft, OBI, DocuSign) is preferred. Knowledge of office
    management systems and procedures; excels in organizational and planning skills; prioritize tasks,
    attention to detail and accuracy, adaptable to changing work environment, excellent customer
    service and problem-solving skills. Ability to self-manage, work independently, and deliver clear
    communication.
