Financial Reporting Manager jobs in Alaska
Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Manager manages the financial reporting staff May work with external auditors to provide requested information. May assist with the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Additionally, Financial Reporting Manager requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a director. The Financial Reporting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Financial Reporting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Afognak Native Corporation is seeking experienced financial reporting manager for a full-time position in Anchorage, AK. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Finance Team, utilizing experience and knowledge of databases to develop and maintain reports using IBM Cognos.
Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Serve as subject matter expert for CostPoint Analytics (CA) across Deltek platform
- Act as liaison between Finance and Information Technology to ensure CA is properly implemented, configured and maintained.
- Possess in-depth understanding of CostPoint data and table structure in order to mine data for functional stakeholders across the organization to ensure data visibility and reporting from CostPoint and other financial data sources.
- Work with stakeholders to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.
- Educate and train customers to use the reporting tool and work with customers to determine additional business requirements and priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience.
- Associate’s Degree with 5 years experience.
- Proven relational database concepts and SQL writing skills.
- Experience with IBM Cognos Framework Manager.
- Experience developing of reports and dashboards off of large database sources.
- Knowledge of Cognos Analytics (CA).
- Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint data and table structure.
