Financial Reporting Director directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Director confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements. Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting. Additionally, Financial Reporting Director may serve as a liaison with or oversee the work of external auditors. May direct the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Requires a bachelor's degree of Accounting or Finance. Typically reports to top management. The Financial Reporting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Financial Reporting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. As part of our Controller's department, you will work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Your role will involve optimizing reporting systems, analyzing audited statements and management reports, as well as coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

    Your Impact

    Translate regulatory reporting requirements into audited statement reports for Senior Management, External Auditors, Regulatory bodies, and the Board of Directors

    Ensure compliance by monitoring and documenting key controls and filings

    Supervise offshore team to prepare financial reports for management review

    Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines

    Maximize the value of reports and provide insightful analysis

    Stay updated on accounting policies, competitive landscape, and emerging trends

    Lead and participate in cross-functional projects

    Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    6 years of experience with audited and/or regulatory statements

    3 years of GAAP reporting in life insurance companies

    3 years of financial analysis and reporting experience

    3 years of experience with general ledger reporting cubes and warehouses

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    CPA certification

    Knowledge of advanced insurance and investment statutory accounting principles

    Experience with report creation and analytics tools

    Skilled in data validation and quality assurance

    Strong customer focus, adaptability, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills

    Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
