Financial Reporting Director directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Director confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements. Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting. Additionally, Financial Reporting Director may serve as a liaison with or oversee the work of external auditors. May direct the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Requires a bachelor's degree of Accounting or Finance. Typically reports to top management. The Financial Reporting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Financial Reporting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Purpose
    This key role will drive our financial reporting process, including SEC filings, earnings release support, internal management reporting, technical accounting, and special projects.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)
    Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Responsible for the preparation and review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports. These reports include the annual (10-K), quarterly (10-Q) and periodic (8-K) reports that are required (in SEC-format).
    • Lead the financial reporting team, providing direction, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, industry regulations and financial reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during the audit process.
    • Oversee equity compensation accounting and short-term incentive.
    • Collaborate with accounting, internal counsel and other departments.
    • Oversee the technology that supports the financial reporting function.
    • Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions on complex transactions/technical accounting issues.
    Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
    Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting/financial reporting experience, with a preference to individuals who have experience in a financial reporting environment with a listed SEC registrant.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organization skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.

    • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
    • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions; and to respond to inquiries.
    • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
