Financial Reporting Director directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Director confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements. Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting. Additionally, Financial Reporting Director may serve as a liaison with or oversee the work of external auditors. May direct the preparation of materials for board or shareholders. Requires a bachelor's degree of Accounting or Finance. Typically reports to top management. The Financial Reporting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Position Overview:
    This position is responsible for collaborating with the Financial Planning and Analysis and Enterprise Data teams to provide internal management reporting services. Contributes to the ongoing design of internal reporting and analytics processes to provide accurate and timely information and exceptional service. Creates and produces ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports.

    The incumbent also partners with EFM and departmental leaders to complete the annual budget, management reporting, decision support and financial analysis for corporate departments. Monitors progress against functional and department objectives, and makes recommendations for departments’ operating efficiencies and cost management. Provides guidance and ongoing monitoring of budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.

    Essential Functions:

    • Creates and develops accurate, consistent and timely reporting by extracting information from various applications and systems, manipulating data and developing user friendly final outputs.
    • Ensures reports are accurate and reconciles to systems of records (e.g. GL, Cornerstone, data warehouse).
    • Assists in quarterly and annual internal reporting requirements with accounting and prepares documentation, analytics and controls to support internal reporting.
    • Creates, maintains, develops, and enhances routine reports, new reports, and ad-hoc requests based on business needs.
    • Assists in the development of the annual budget and forecasts in coordination with departments.
    • Guides functional business partners to ensure sound financial decisions. Responsible for applicable financial metrics that impact profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow performance.

    Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
    • 3 years of related work experience in finance, accounting, or financial reporting.
    • Certified Management Accountant (CMA), preferred.
    • Solid experience with databases and the ability to manipulate and query large data sets.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of Compeer’s data, data definitions, data sources and data flow.
    • Solid working knowledge of accounting, finance principles, and financial statements.
    • Well organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to influence and negotiate.
    • Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other related finance and/or report writing software applications, including, but not limited to OneStream, Axiom, CloudSuite Financial, Power BI, Salesforce and others as appropriate.
    • Basic knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Power BI reporting and analytics applications.
    • Listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
    • Proven presentation skills for one-on-one and/or group presentations and the ability to translate highly technical information into non-technical terms.
    • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, problem solving, decision making, analytical, project management, organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Can effectively deal with ambiguity, cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and make decisions without have having 100% of the data.
    • High degree of confidentiality.
    • Valid driver’s license.
