Financial Reporting Director directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use. Ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company's regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Director confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements. Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting. Western Nebraska Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Financial Aid Director.
Responsibilities: Supervise, plan, and coordinate the activities and operations of the financial aid function including administering financial aid with the assurance of compliance with various State and Federal guidelines and regulations. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the financial aid process; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures. Manage the Financial Aid Office, staff, and budget, coordinate Federal, State and college programs to meet deadline dates and reporting responsibilities, act as liaison with Federal, State and private agencies regarding student financial aid, and represent the college at regional and State financial aid meetings. Coordinate financial aid workshops for students both on- and off-campus; train students at money management seminars to become fiscally responsible.
Qualifications: Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a related field. Five years of increasingly responsible administrative or staff experience in financial aid assistance programs including two years of supervisory and administrative responsibility. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance.
Salary: Commensurate.
