Financial Reporting Accountant jobs in Hempstead, NY

• CFS New York is working with a stable non-profit agency looking for an Accounting Manager to join their growing team
• This non-profit agency has been around for over 50 years and strives to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness and traumatic brain injury.
• This role will be reporting directly to the VP of Accounting while additionally working with the VP and CFO on special projects.
• The team here prides themselves on fundraising events, teamwork, and collaboration
• This role will be fully on-site in Bethpage, Long Island

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial and managerial reports
• Manage all aspects of budgets, audits, internal, and external reporting for the various organizations
• Supervise the staff on the reporting & budget team
• Responsible for the overall preparation of the CFR for each reporting entity
• Perform reviews to ensure accuracy of data throughout the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers
• Create reports for updating both the accounting and operations teams on the financial performance
• Ensure that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds

• Not-for-profit background is preferred
• 5 Years of Accounting experience and 2 years of experience in a supervisory position
• BA Degree in Accounting or a similar field is a must
• Intermediate excel skills is a must
• CPA is a plus
