Position Summary:
Serves as liaison between client relations units and functions as a team leader for a particular unit. The work required the use of independent judgment and initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities of maintaining a professional office setting, and the ability to provide clerical support on all levels within the Center. This position requires heavy public contact.
Minimum Qualifications:
An Associate of Arts (AA) degree, preferably in Business, and experience in general clerical, secretarial, receptionist experience, preferably including third party billing
OR
Graduation from a standard high school or its equivalent and two years of general office, secretarial or clerical experience, one of which must be in dealing with the public, preferably in a clinical setting and/or dealing with third-party billing.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist telephone and on-site clients with inquiries and questions with respect and dignity; refer to most appropriate department/program for assistance
2. Answer all telephone calls in a professional manner when necessary
3. Accurately relays client financial responsibility to clients, collect co-pays, requests demographic/payor information, insurance card, obtains verification documentation, etc.
4. Accurately Verifies Eligibility by calling or using Availity and Medicaid websites
5. Collect on old balances on Clients accounts
6. Set up Payment Plans on high balances
7. Notify patient of Self-Pay responsibility
8. Update Billing Information in EMR
9. Review Clients accounts to assure all Financial Documents are up to date
10. Updates the EMR and Tower (as applicable) as outlined and directed in the FC Work Flow Process
11. Follow scheduling guidelines, schedule and/or reschedule client appointments
12. Works closely with front desk staff to maximize collections
13. Create, maintain, and update in Profiler files and other databases/ spreadsheets and/or other information used to track information for department, and provide reports on such information as needed
14. Conduct and monitor the preparation and distribution of Share of Cost statements,
15. Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives.
16. Provide back up to front desk when necessary
17. Work in other departments/programs and verify the client’s insurance (CSU, Boys Recovery, PHP, Bridgehouse, OTP, and etc.)
