Financial Associate (Public) gathers and interprets financial data and coordinates the process for the origination of debt securities used to finance public projects for housing, utilities or other municipal initiatives. Develops estimates of services and completes a comprehensive analysis of project, including bond ratings and insurance. Being a Financial Associate (Public) collaborates with public officials in analyzing the necessary bond and cash flow reports that are associated with the projects. Starts the offering process and may make recommendations to interested investors. Additionally, Financial Associate (Public) coordinates preparation of all offering documents. Manages the bond issuance process and assists with the offering. Depending on the size and level of project, responsibility may vary. May manage the entire project or only a portion of the deal. Requires a bachelor's degree of Finance. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Financial Associate (Public) works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. - 2 years of professional experience and demonstrated success in consulting or applied research.
- Financial Services industry market knowledge and curiosity.
- Demonstrated commitment to embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across all internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Good presentation skills; an ability to communicate with influence and motivate multiple audiences.
- Superior organizational, project and time management skills with strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong and efficient writing skills; ability to quickly synthesize data and present succinct, cogent arguments verbally and in writing
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to set priorities, problem-solve and multi-task while paying attention to detail.
- High degree of flexibility to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment and readily embrace change.
- Ability to commit to up to 10% domestic travel, with very occasional evening meetings (1-2/quarter).
RESPONSIBILITIES- Participate as a team member on a range of consulting and research projects for the financial services market.
- Perform desk research, and conduct analysis with limited help.
- Contribute perspective and insights advising clients to design, launch, and adapt financial solutions and strategies that improve consumer financial health.
- Manage and complete assigned tasks from start to finish using project management tools and strong communications skills.
- Support the development of proposals and budgets for consulting and grant-funded opportunities that are financial services-related.
- Contribute to client facing events, such as workshops and conferences.
