Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR
Public Works Department – Up to $2,000 Sign On Bonus Available -
This position is responsible work of a highly technical and fiscal nature to ensure sound stewardship of the financial resources entrusted to the Public Works department. Incumbents prepare or oversee the submission of accurate and timely financial information and reports to City/Department management, creditors, grantors, auditors and others interested in or requiring such information. Duties include supervision of clerical staff; prepares and monitors annual budget; managing department purchases, accounts payable and receivable, cash handling practices, and enforcement of City financial policies. This position reports to the Public Works Director.
Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business, finance or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training; applied knowledge of office management, budgeting, accounting and financial principles and policies with experience in governmental accounting; experience supervising, evaluating and directing staff; applied knowledge of data processing principles and structures including experience working with integrated financial management information systems; excellent communication skills with ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with City management, and other financial officers and employees at all levels of the organization, customer service and computer skills to include Google Workspace and Windows, must demonstrate ability to work independently within established policies, including the ability to experience good judgment in interpreting policies and procedures in varied situations, to prioritize work, and to adapt to changing priorities resulting from customer requests; and ability to work as a team member with management and other finance staff to brainstorm, problem-solve and coordinate work efforts. Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
Non-Union position – Grade C44 – Starting salary range $76,021 - $88,122 annually, based on education and experience.
