The Job You Will Perform:
This finance position is responsible for assisting the Controller in the more complex, analytical projects, operating model and standards maintenance and assisting in ensuring adequate internal controls are in place and adhered to.
- Areas of primary responsibility include, but not limited to 1) forecasting, 2) variance analysis and calculations, 3) material consumption analyses, and 4) checkbook reporting and analysis Develop, implement, and maintain effective management information systems to provide operating management with the data necessary for measuring the mill’s operations so that system modifications can be made as warranted.
- Assist the Controller in maintaining the mill’s compliance with corporate and division policies and procedures and that accounting records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Assist with the month-end accounting close including journal voucher preparation, account balancing and other closing activities as directed by the Controller. Provide management with clear, concise explanations of results.
- Assist the Controller in preparing the annual operating plan and developing the standard costs of all products the mill manufactures. Also provide support to the Controller in the area of Budget 4 Planning and the 5 year Capital Plan.
- Assist with evaluation of Mill capital projects and work with various departments on operations optimization and improvement projects.
- Assist Mill with streamlining of mill finance functions and related activities.
- Responsible for assisting in developing an annual operating expense budget
The Skills You Will Bring:
- BS or MS degree in Accounting, Finance
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and GAAP
- Facility or plant experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in SAP a plus
- Background or interest in Data Analytics, Analysis for Office, or Power BI a plus
- Proficient in Power BI a plus
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
