    Summary:

    Will serve as a key resource and strategic business partner to Director, Financial Planning & analysis The Manager ensures achievement of budget objectives, maximizes financial resources, and leads efforts to improve the assigned business unit(s) overall financial performance. Executes related budgeting process. Maintains checks on financial expenditures and prudent utilization of resources. Participates in the development of strategic business, market and operational plans focused on the growth of clinical, academic and financial performance for assigned business unit(s) by collaborating with Finance and department leadership in planning, prioritizing and implementing department and system-wide opportunities and initiatives. Conducts cost/volume and environmental assessments on existing and potential markets. Supervises the daily operations of assigned analysts.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

    Master’s degree in a business-related field.

    Prior experience which includes program planning, financial and productivity analysis, and systems

    A strong track record of regular and ad hoc reporting and financial analysis.

    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

    Strong proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word with working knowledge of MS Access and/or statistical software packages.

    A minimum of 7 years of experience in a financial analysis role within a large healthcare system or similar environment or 3 years in a managerial role.

    Experience in preparing and presenting leadership-ready comprehensive documents in multiple formats (e.g. analytical findings and reports, executive summaries, presentations, workbooks, memos, etc.)

    Must possess critical thinking, analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred:

    Experience leading & facilitating cross functional teams.

    Experience requesting and extracting data from healthcare information systems (e.g. EPIC, Infor, Allscripts, etc.)

    Working knowledge of healthcare data and inter-related nature of coding nomenclatures (e.g. DRG’s, CPT’s, etc.)

    Physical Demands:

    May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.

    May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.

    Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

    Ability to read job related documents.

    Ability to use computer.
