MKD Electric is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager. As part of this role…

This is a new position for a fast-growing and fast-paced, mid-sized contractor/construction company (privately owned) in the Northwest Chicago area. Seeking a detailed oriented and forward-thinking individual to assist the accounting department day-to-day functions.  This position will have plenty of growth opportunities. 

What you will do…

• Preparing profit and loss models, balance sheets and other management reports
• Prepare financial reports, financial forecasts, and analysis to understand the financial state of business
• Manage inventory controls and oversee annual physical inventory
• Monitor the company's financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs; review overhead budget to actual results with department managers
• Prepare cash flow reports; project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
• Provide oversight and support for external audits
• Assist in integration process for potential acquisitions
• Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data
• Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions
• Assist with 10-day month-end close process.
• Develop and track KPI metrics to monitor the health of the business

What you will need to succeed…

• 7-10 year’s experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Full cycle month end close
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Experience within a construction or job-cost environment and percentage of competition accounting preferred
