Finance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of finance professionals. Oversees the collection and analysis of financial information for an organization. Being a Finance Supervisor monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Finance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Finance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Finance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Associate- Leadership Development Program

    The Leadership Development Program is designed to provide the Associate with a comprehensive knowledge of all functional areas of C&F Finance Company. The Associate will complete rotations through Loan Servicing and Recovery, Risk, Customer Service, Accounting, Loan Processing, Underwriting and Sales divisions of the company. This rotational process helps associates develop knowledge in all areas of the company and develop a broad range of skills needed to be successful in the auto/boat/RV finance business. The program will familiarize the Associate with the company’s business philosophies, policies, procedures, vision, and culture.

     

    This company specific training will prepare the Associate for a successful career at C&F Finance Company. The Associate will complete each assigned job function while representing C&F Finance Company in a professional and positive manner and ensuring that all relative laws and regulations are complied with in this process.

     

    ROTATIONS

    The Associate will rotate through the following departments: Loan Servicing and Recovery, Loan Operations (Risk, Customer Service and Accounting, Compliance), and Underwriting/Loan Processing. Rotation length will be based on Associate performance and the company’s needs in the various departments.

     

     

    Training to be completed:

    • AFSA Compliance Training classes
    • COUNSELOR LIBRARY (CARLAW) training-state laws
    • C&F University training courses
    • Leadership Effectiveness Training
    • Department specific training

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Understand and effectively apply C&F Finance Company’s business practices and philosophies as reflected in the Loan Servicing, Customer Service and Underwriting Manuals
    • Demonstrate knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA and related laws and in all states that apply to C&F
    • Knowledge, understanding and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations that regulate the collection and finance industry
    • Take all AFSA University required courses and be able to successfully pass all testing requirements at the end of each training segment
    • Knowledge, understanding and compliance with C&F policies and procedures
    • Must be able to meet the attendance requirements for the position.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    Skills and qualities required:

     

    • The employee must possess excellent interpersonal and intuitive skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Leadership ability
    • Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated.
    • Analytical ability 
    • Ability to learn and apply new skills on a daily basis.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred.  There is extensive use of Excel.  Experience with database products is a plus but not required.
    • Individual must be a team player who works cooperatively with peers, co-workers, supervisors, and other departments.
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays as business dictates.

     

    Knowledge:  

    No experience required. Prior experience in banking or financial services is valuable. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) preferred. Proficient computer skills and typing skills.

     

    Skills:            

    Strong academics and technical skills should be accompanied by proficiencies in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, and relationship building. Candidates must be able to work independently and on teams, with effective time management and business writing skills.

     

    Abilities:        

    Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. Must have excellent active listening skills and be able to work independently. The individual must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and performance standards. In addition, they must understand the auto loan industry processes and regulations and be able to present accurate mathematical calculations. Ability to master navigating through companies’ computer operating applications.

     

    Education:    

    Recent college graduate with a B.S. or B.A. in Business preferred

    Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods: view computer monitor, keyboarding, talking on the phone, sitting, hands and wrists fine motion, lifting boxes no heavier than 20 pounds and standing/walking.
