Finance Manager manages the daily financial activities and functions for an organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations. Being a Finance Manager forecasts and manages a cash flow that meets the needs of the company. Provides guidance to managers in financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure accurate, compliant and useful financial reporting is produced. The Finance Manager performs a variety of professional accounting work in support of the Auditor. They will assist the County Auditor with budgetary programs, performing regular financial analysis, and grant tracking, while also being responsible for all aspects of the tax levy and apportioning process.
What Does an Average Day Look Like?
Applicants Should Have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field plus three years of progressively responsible professional accounting work or comparable combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and budgeting processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Successful Candidates Will Also Have:
Three or more years of proven experience in financial management, preferably in a governmental or public sector setting. Knowledge of government fund accounting and financial reporting. Knowledge of state laws affecting county budgets and financing. Previous grant administration experience. Previous supervisory experience.
