Position Overview:
The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. This position requires a strategic leader with strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial business accounting. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary finance contact.

Finance Responsibilities
- Oversee the Finance Department by providing support, leadership, and guidance as needed, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Processing payroll (including multistate payroll)
- Work closely with the CFO completing day-to-day financial activities including the review and approval of cash disbursements (A/P and expense reimbursements), accounts receivable/collections, cash flow management, month-end closing, and financial statement preparation, billings, establishing ACH payments.
- Generate quarterly reports such as budget updates and payroll tax forms.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, and make recommendations for adjustments to firm policies and procedures as needed.
- Act as the responsible individual for the approval of significant corporate expense transactions.
- Generate annual budget for board approval, and semi-annual financial statement analysis for semi-annual budget revisions.
- Assist CFO with banking activities including loan and line of credit administration and serving as alternate approver for ACH batches.
- Produce quarterly profitability analysis of tax and client accounting service departments.
- Perform annual evaluations of finance staff.
- Assist with updating firm finance policy and procedures as necessary.
Executive Administrative Duties
- Participate in Executive Committee meetings - managing board meeting administration including generation of board packets, assist with updating board and shareholder meeting agendas, and participation in board and shareholder meetings.
- Oversee the Finance Departments by providing support, leadership, and guidance as needed, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Review/edit technical proposals and serve as alternate proposal writer. Assist with identifying potential RFPs upon which to bid.
- Ensure all federal, state, and professional licenses are renewed and maintained.
- Assist with assessment of lease agreements, negotiation of rates and renewals, recommendations based upon firm growth or downsizing, and maintaining official documents.
- Provide leadership and direction to Finance staff, ensuring efficient and effective operation of all departments fostering communication and collaboration to drive cohesive efforts across the firm.
- Oversee firm operations at a high level, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders, representing the firm in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
- Payroll experience required, QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in professional services organization (accounting, legal, consulting, etc.).
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role at a similar-sized company; experience at an accounting or professional services industry preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and other relevant software applications.
