Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Procures and coordinates any additional resources required to support field engineering activities. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and recommend improving construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Engineering Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     REGIONAL MANAGER OF VIRTUAL CONSTRUCTION

    The Regional Manager of Virtual Construction will facilitate the operation of a virtual construction department. This role will manage people and processes to run smoothly and within budget.

    Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

    • Assist corporate managers with various administrative functions associated with any or all phases of the Virtual Construction department – from procurement through job/s close out to assistance, this may include some projects in other regions. 
    • In collaboration with the President of Construction and VC Director, implements operational objectives and goals for the regional team of detailing staff that support the region's overall operations plan.  This includes the implementation of policies, procedures, structures, and performance standards, within the boundaries of corporate policies and guidelines.
    • Work together with the other Regional Managers to share detailers across the USE system.
    • Manage partnership of Regional Managers and VC personnel leading project teams.
    • Provides a support structure for regional detailers on technical and non-technical issues to maximize individual effort and team results.
    • Makes project assignments for each member of regional coordination/detailing team.
    • Monitors overall quantity and quality of detailing operations for the assigned region.  Also, in partnership with the VC Director & Regional Managers, establishes and monitors department budget.
    • Responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency through optimum use of equipment, facilities, etc.
    • Must keep current on industry software and hardware developments and propose and implements new technologies or industry best practices as necessary.
    • Has full management responsibility for members of the regional detailing team; including (with the help of VC Director) determining staffing levels, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, etc.
    • Interacts regularly with Procurement and Operations teams to provide an integrated detailing solution/s.  Including but not limited to bids, models, interview assistance.
    • Also, partners with peers and the VC Director to ensure a "one-company one team'' focus and knowledge sharing.
    • Write, edit, or transcribe general correspondence and/or department documents.  This may include letters, inquiry packages, change orders, purchase orders, contract agreements, etc.
    • Monitor and document department status and other department information for current, bidding, via Access database or Excel, company accounting system or other tracking mechanisms.
    • Maintain organized filing system for all department documentation.
    • Interface with both internal and external individuals such as department team members, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.  Maintain ongoing communication related to department, respond to inquiries, seek information, and provide information as necessary to ensure the smooth administration of each project.
    • May participate in or coordinate special assignments related to department administration in order to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Assist USE Managers in the development and nurturing of client relationships.
    • Help coordinate office training and meetings.

    Education:

    • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Drafting Technology highly preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years relevant mechanical construction industry experience is required.
    • Minimum of 1 year construction operations supervisory, supervising detailing function.
    • Mechanical field experience (pipe fitter, plumber, sheet metal worker) is preferred. Experience.

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Thorough understanding of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
    • Knowledge of mechanical construction operations, principles and processes, including project life-cycle.
    • Advanced proficiency in the use of computer aided drafting software:  AutoCAD and/or Revit; NavisWorks; AutoCAD and /or Revit MEP, Autodesk Fabrication, and related line of products.
    • Must possess at least basic level proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet search engines.
    • Proven ability to lead and manage a team to achieve results, despite multiple and changing priorities.
    • Proven collaborator – able to facilitate cooperation among teams and individuals.
    • Excellent communication skills – including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, groups, managers, clients, etc.  
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of most current industry technology, and ability to lead team to adapt to changing technology / computer systems, software, etc.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret structural and architectural drawings, and other construction documents.

    Physical and/or travel demands:

    The Regional Manager of VC duties require prolonged sitting and use of computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.  Visual acuity is required to discern drawings, and manual dexterity for operating computer equipment.  Travel to remote jobsite for meetings, trouble-shooting and/or constructability review is required.

    Benefits and Compensation:

    • The range for this position has been established at $111,920 to $158,087 and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
    • Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off. An industry-leading benefits package including health, dental, and vision plans, and retirement.
