Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Procures and coordinates any additional resources required to support field engineering activities. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and recommend improving construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Engineering Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Catalano Construction, Inc. an established Site Excavation & Utility Contractor seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for a position as a Senior Project Manager for projects across Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts out of our Cumberland, Rhode Island office.Responsibilities:
- Responsible for project budgeting and scheduling.
- Review and manage subcontractor and vendor buyouts.
- Managing and tracking of project documentation including submittals, RFIs, drawings, schedules, and files
- Managing Change Order Requests
- Maintain communication with superintendents, project foremen, general contractors, and clients
- Assist with closeout documentation for submission to general contractors and clients
- Developing relationships with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, general contractors, and project owners throughout project life cycle and beyond
- Perform these duties on multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years experience working as a project manager on projects valued in excess of $1M.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- Ability to review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet frequently changing deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam REVU, and AutoCAD
- Proficient in Procore
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to successfully pass a background check for work at educational and government facilities.
