Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Construction Project Manager Summer Co-Op
Hulbert Engineering and Land Surveying, DPC has two (2) openings for a Construction Project Inspector/ Engineering Tech for the summer of 2024. The candidate will assist the Project Managers on assigned projects and understand construction codes, OSHA safety requirements and the ability to read and understand drawings and relevant contract documents. Candidate must also possess a knowledge of all sub trades, coordination, and cost estimating. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and contractors, possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and be proactive to avoid and resolve project issues or conflicts. The individual will work alongside the project team to manage high quality project documentation and process within budget and on schedule. These positions are expected to attend project meeting, assist with the tracking and inspection of material deliveries and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the project team.
Job duties and responsibilities entail, but are not limited to the following:
· Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
· Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with construction contract documents.
· Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff and workers.
· Review job specifications to determine appropriate construction quality.
· Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
· Monitor quality control programs.
· Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
· Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures and construction problems.
· Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
· Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
· Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
· Manage multiple projects and work various shifts.
Candidate must be in their junior or senior year of a Bachelor’s program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proficiency in use of computer software programs such as MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and Project Management software. Co-Op schedule will be second shift through June, and first shift for July and August.
