Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Procures and coordinates any additional resources required to support field engineering activities. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and recommend improving construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Engineering Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     We are seeking a Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (“EPC”) Account Manager (EPC-AM) is directly responsible for developing long-term relationships, negotiating contracts, and growing EPC sales within assigned scope. This will include satisfying customers’ needs and requests, responding to queries in a timely manner, and working with the Harvest Solar team to meet RFP requirements and deadlines. Ultimately, the goal is to grow business by building successful and long-term relationships. The Primary Scope will be EPC projects working with developers, investors, utilities, other construction companies, and municipalities. Initial scope of projects will range from 500kWdc up to 10MWdc.

    Major Responsibilities of Position

    • Proactively develop a rolodex of industry contacts and maintain good relationships.
    • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.
    • Develop positive relationships with clients at multiple levels within their organization.
    • Act as the point of contact and handle customer’s individual needs.
    • Follow up, resolve conflicts, and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.
    • Report on the status of accounts, business development and project targets in company CRM.
    • Obtain RFPs in alignment with the team strategy.
    • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations both in person and virtually.
    • Conduct site surveys and project assessments.
    • Negotiate, close deals, and support sales price development.
    • Review legal documents and other contractual requirements.
    • Work with sales organization to expand portfolio of EPC customers.
    • Work with the team to optimize the EPC business acquisition process.
    • Participate in company’s strategic marketing and business development activities for new products, customers and/or services related to the EPC market.
    • Develop creative ideas and coalitions to increase acceptance of products and help customers achieve their needs for renewable energy products.
    • Present at and attend various trade shows and events, representing Harvest Solar in a professional manner in order to network.
    • Ensure quality of paperwork and documentation to support project development and installation.
    • Update Harvest management on current industry status, competitive situations, and potential change points.
    • Research general contracting requirements of Harvest Solar in various jurisdictions.
    • Research permitting, zoning, and interconnection process in various jurisdictions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Personal Competencies

    • Proven work experience as a sales account manager or sales account executive.
    • Hands-on experience in sales and an ability to deliver excellent customer experiences.
    • Ability to represent Harvest Solar in a professional manner to customers, owners, contractors, vendors, tradeshow attendees, and any other contacts inside or outside of the Harvest organization.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, departments, peers, customers, the public and executive leadership.
    • Ability to organize work and tasks to drive results.
    • Ability to create proposals requiring use of various computer software, strong financial skills, and business acumen.
    • Ability to read, evaluate, and suggest edits for contracts and legal documents.
    • Ability to interpret relevant industry codes / processes and understand products in a sales and administrative capacity.
    • Ability to understand and act effectively in a changing environment as both the industry and organization grow.
    • Ability to understand and support a small expanding business by recognizing problems and bringing solutions to the forefront.
    • Fluent use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), email etiquette and ability to learn design software. Knowledge of CRM processes and software.
    • Willingness to pursue industry certifications.

    Education, certification, license requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in a relevant field required (engineering, mathematics, business, or similar). Note: Two years of directly related experience is equal to one year f education.
    • 5 years’ minimum sales/project management experience required. Construction, solar, or capital equipment, preferred.
    • Valid State Driver’s License, required.
    • Basic knowledge of the solar PV markets, preferred.

    Work Environment

    • Day travel expected up to 50% of the time with occasional overnight travel required. Transportation costs are covered through expense reimbursement. Hotel and food per diem available through reimbursement for overnight stays.
    • Office Environment 50% of the time: Busy office with frequent interruptions and multi-tasking required; standard office equipment is available including Microsoft Office suite of software.
    • Construction Setting as needed: Job Site terrain and outdoor work with exposure to weather fluctuations in addition to construction site hazards.
