Fast Food Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising food preparation and restaurant operations during assigned shifts. Schedules employees based on anticipated staffing needs, and ensures workers are trained in proper food handling practices, safety, and cash handling procedures. Being a Fast Food Shift Supervisor addresses customer complaints and prepares documentation for cash and inventory reporting. Assists team members during rush periods to ensure restaurant efficiency. Additionally, Fast Food Shift Supervisor may be responsible for restaurant opening and/or closing. May require a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
* Schedule and monitor all team production activities in the areas of: seeding, irrigation, mowing, thinning and re-plugging, loading, fertilizer mixing, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide applications, cleanup and maintenance.
* Supervise forklift operations and maintenance shop personnel reviewing repair and maintenance procedures for irrigation, mowing, seed line, heaters and temperature control equipment. Responsible for vehicle, electrical and seed room cooling equipment maintenance.
* Responsible for inventory control for fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, peat moss, vermiculite, trays and bins, shade cloth and bird netting, plastics, tools and maintenance supplies, fuel and oil, and other employee equipment needs.
* Prepare reports for management such as DAR, seed usage and production, greenhouse inventory, and manpower needs and schedules.
* Assist management in budget preparations.
* Develop and maintain fertilizer program; monitor and record: Germination, pH, temperature.
* Monitor and keep records for payroll, LOAs, vacation, medical and disability leaves.
* Monitor inspect traps and bird control, shipping tags and tagging trails.
* Maintain STC facilities; lunchroom, spill ways, open fields, dump sites, property boundaries.
* Adhere to and reinforce company safety programs and provide assistance as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
* 3-5 years of experience in greenhouse growing or vegetable farming.
* Knowledge of plant growth, spray, and fertilizer program.
* Knowledge of equipment maintenance such as irrigation and seed line equipment.
* Language Requirements: English/Spanish
* Must have the ability to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to work in various weather conditions
* Ability to walk in uneven ground
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Ability to climb on and off harvesting equipment
* Ability to travel to various harvesting locations and relocate
