Fashion Designer is responsible for executing the fashion design strategy for an organization. Creates and manages multiple fashion design projects from conceptualization to finished product and ensures projects are aligned with the brand's identity. Being a Fashion Designer presents design concepts and ideas to internal stakeholders. Effectively communicates design details to the product development and production teams. Additionally, Fashion Designer determines final style, material, and color based on input from sales/marketing, merchandising, development, and manufacturing teams. Ensures fashion designs meet high-quality standards and adhere to approved guidelines. Keeps abreast of consumer needs and trends. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in apparel/fashion design or related field. Typically reports to a manager. The Fashion Designer work is closely managed.     Your Opportunity

    You will work on tasks under the guidance of a Senior Designer or Architect. Licensure is not required but it is expected to be part of your short-term goals.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Keeps the Project Manager informed of progress on expectations, deadlines, and deliverables that fall within their responsibility. Participate in team meetings, charrettes, and coordination sessions.
    • Assists in monitoring and coordination of consultant work and deadlines.
    • Assist project teams in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
    • Develop design concepts, renderings, and presentation drawings.
    • Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
    • Prepare and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
    • Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
    • Assist in contract administration tasks.
    • Attend project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
    • Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment.
    • Assist in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Capable of simultaneously supporting multiple Project Managers on multiple projects.
    • General understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.
    • Comfortable working independently and takes direction well, however, proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction. Manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
    • Team player with the client, entire project team and contractor.
    • Good communicator.
    • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, InDesign and Photoshop; Prefer experience with Lumion, SketchUP, Newforma.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
    • 3-7 years of experience.
    • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

    Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Work from home may be optional for up to two days per week depending on assignment.

    Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

    Salary Range(s):

    • $68,200.00 - $98,900.00 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

    Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
