Fashion Designer is responsible for executing the fashion design strategy for an organization. Creates and manages multiple fashion design projects from conceptualization to finished product and ensures projects are aligned with the brand's identity. Being a Fashion Designer presents design concepts and ideas to internal stakeholders. Effectively communicates design details to the product development and production teams. Additionally, Fashion Designer determines final style, material, and color based on input from sales/marketing, merchandising, development, and manufacturing teams. Ensures fashion designs meet high-quality standards and adhere to approved guidelines. Keeps abreast of consumer needs and trends. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in apparel/fashion design or related field. Typically reports to a manager. The Fashion Designer work is closely managed. This position will produce architectural drawings including plans, sections and details along with bills of material.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Proficient with AutoCAD, required.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam or similar.
- Knowledge of Revit a plus.
- Efficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Efficient interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Efficient organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Design Drafting, Engineering or related field.
- At least two years of AutoCAD experience required.
- At least two years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate areas of construction sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs from an architects rough drawings.
- Analyzes building codes and regulations to determine how they will affect architectural designs.
- Draws and details plans based on instructions provided by engineers and architects.
- Occasionally visit job sites to gather data and measurements needed to complete designs.
- Determines the types of materials needed for the project and calculates the quantity to be ordered.
- Assures work completed is accurate and within project deadlines.
