Description:
The Project Designer will be responsible for supporting the sales team by working with the entire engineering team to provide custom design support during the quotation process. The position will primarily focus on custom orders by working across the organization to translate unique customer specifications into internal manufacturing requirements using CAD and ERP, and document them through the creation of submittal, shop drawings and BOMs. They will primarily be focused on creating and documenting custom quotes, but may also assist on catalog item quotes.
Day to day responsibilities:
-Work with collaboratively with Engineering, Sales, and Operations to document customer specifications in AutoCAD
-Create and quote new custom design features to satisfy customer order requirements and meet production needs
-Enter and modify sales-related data (ordering processing, purchasing, customer backlog, cancellations) into our company’s internal information system and support the Engineering and Operations teams throughout the order entry and manufacturing processes
-Partner with internal resources (e.g. Engineering, Operations, etc.) to leverage best-in-class outcomes for customers
-Keep up-to-date with new products
-Work with Supply Chain to identify and contact supply base for quotation of unique customer solutions
-Check design packages for accuracy and completeness
-Create, implement, and follow up on Engineering Master creation and maintenance
-Assemble quotes for review with Sales/Engineering Team
-Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Solidworks experience
-Familiarity with pumps, hydronic systems, electrical controls
-HVAC experience
