Summary

The Counselor provides culturally sensitive competent mental health counseling services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a client base through marketing professional services with the support of Family Service Inc.
• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
• Provide individual, couple, group, and/or family therapy sessions to clients.
• Monitor and document client progress.
• Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in the field of mental health.
• Be an active participant in the clinical team.
• Be willing to provide therapy services via Telehealth when appropriate.
• Ensure consistent and ongoing communication with the Leadership Team.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and staff training.
• Maintains a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
• Flexible scheduling to meet the needs of clients served.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Experience working with diverse populations and culturally sensitive counseling approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work.
• State licensure or certification as a Counselor, Therapist or Social Worker

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient mental health setting.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
