Being a Family Support Counselor helps to navigate the application process and outlines the requirements and benefits of programs or services. Advises about types of counseling services available and makes referrals to service providers. Additionally, Family Support Counselor may require a bachelor's degree in human services related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Family Support Counselor work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. About your Role:
As an ACT Substance Abuse Specialist, you will work with adults living with severe mental illness and/or addiction issues. You will conduct assessments, provide individual and family counseling, case management services, and link clients to community resources, following the treatment plan goals. This position works a team on-call rotation for 1 week every 6-8 weeks and is provided 1 day of PTO for your work/life balance, whether you receive calls or not. We fully equip you through trainings on Initial assessments/evaluations, treatment planning and intervention, documentation, psychopharmacology, reporting regulations for child abuse and neglect, patient rights, and crisis intervention.
