Advises about types of counseling services available and makes referrals to service providers. Additionally, Family Support Counselor may require a bachelor's degree in human services related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Family Support Counselor work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Provide support services to one case management team and to children/families as assigned.
    • Transport children identified by the case management team.
    • Oversee visitations as assigned or with case manager.
    • Establish positive relationships with children, natural parents, foster and adoptive parents and extended family.
    • Complete documentation related to provision of services in a timely manner.
    • Participate in meetings and work sessions related to service provision as appropriate and directed by direct supervisor.
    • Complete other tasks as assigned or as necessary to ensure that clients receive necessary services and/or to ensure that necessary administrative tasks are completed.
    • Trained and authorized to access protected health information.

    Requirements

    WHAT YOU NEED:


    Education & Experience:

    • High School diploma/GED required. A.A. preferred.
    • Experience in Human Services or child care preferred.
    • Clean driving record
    • Willing to submit to and pass a Level II Background Screening and Drug Urinalysis.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to transport others
    • Ability to maintain sitting position for at least 1/2 of business day
    • Ability to occasionally move/lift up to 25 pounds
