The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.     SUMMARY
    The Maintenance Facility Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and systems within a maintenance setting. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Responsibilities:.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Conduct regular inspections of facility equipment and systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to HVAC systems, mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or plumbing malfunctions and take appropriate corrective actions to resolve issues promptly.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, or equipment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to facility operations.
    • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to coordinate and execute facility improvement projects.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
    • Assist in the identification and procurement of necessary supplies and materials for maintenance activities.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices, technological advancements, and relevant regulations to enhance the efficiency of maintenance operations.


     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
    • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a facility or industrial setting.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols.
    • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
