The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. PRIMARY PURPOSE
This is an entry level role in our manufacturing plant with Werner Gourmet Meat Snacks Inc., the primary goal is to ensure smooth operation and upkeep of machinery and equipment essential for the production process. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency within the facility by performing routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and executing repairs as directed. Additionally, the maintenance technician will contribute to preventative maintenance schedule, collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime, and uphold sanitation standards to guarantee the integrity of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment according to established schedules to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
· Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify potential issues or areas for improvement in the production equipment.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and implement appropriate solutions to restore equipment operations.
· Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components or parts to maintain the continuous operation of production lines.
· Collaborate with production teams to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
· Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment or machinery as required.
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to create a secure working environment for oneself and others.
· Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks, accurately and comprehensively.
· Participating in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry best practices and technologies.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and contribute to overall plant sanitation efforts to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
